prainting...yes, prainting.

seems to run in the family
my sister's kids
'prainted' earlier today
and giles, while on the phone w my sister,
told me he'd like to 'praint'
that is when it was brought to my attention
that other family members
had, in fact, also prainted today
cute little fella
with his 'praints' and boots...

a day in may...

i have NO idea what i finally did right
but i am back to being able to type
the way i like
so, there! blogger...
{oh, heck... i spoke to soon...
i still have no idea how i got the cursor to the center
like i like it and got the picture to move down,
'cuz if i did, i'd do it again...}
alright, blogger, you win
for now i will just recap here {or maybe at the end}
what each picture is included for
this first one is to brag a little
right now my hubs has no business buying me flowers
but, for mother's day, he did
but he didn't just go to the store,
or call a florist
{although both are quite sweet things to do}
he bought me a bouquet of daisies
from the battered women's shelter
they are beautiful!
and i did say 'are' because they still ARE!!!
it has been two weeks
and they look as fresh as the day he gave them to me!
i love that he supported this cause
we have, over the years, come in contact
with some of these women and their children
they live a hard life
i hope in some small way,
this purchase made their life easier in some way
thank you mikey
{ps, i think he's on to something, he poured sierra mist in the water from the start}
this morning we went to the sunrise hot air balloon race
it made for an early morning, but it was fantastic
last year mikey got to ride
but this year he just helped some folks with their balloons
and hung out with us
{which, while i was pleased for his little adventure last year,
didn't mind too much that he didn't partake this year...
there is just something unsettling about it...
although it must be pretty safe
and he LOVED it!}
the sunrise balloon is the lead balloon
they go and ride for awhile
then they drop some kind of bean bag
the rest of the balloons also have a bean bag
 they toss it down near the lead balloon's
whichever balloon's bean bag is closest, wins
pretty interesting concept there...
the pepsi can was huge!
the two brightly colored ones on the ground
are the ones mike helped with
the one to the left was the one the mayor's fiance rode in
he is so sweet, he let her go this year,
he rode last year
{hmmm...mikey? you would have done the same- for reals, you're nice like that}
while mike was helping
giles and i were babysitting regis
his mommy was helping with the balloons too
and he was scared
his mommy brought him with her to the race
because he was bitten by a brown recluse recently
and is healing...
is he not the cutest {george, cover your ears}
yorkie you've ever seen?
his personality was DELIGHTFUL
he was sooooo gentle and sweet
giles wanted to get out of his stroller
and 'make him feel better'
he was referring to the fact that he had that terrible wound
from the spider bite
giles was so gentle with him
OH! i could just have scooped little regis right up and brought him home!!!
the pink energizer bunny was el-humungo
giles was sporting a pair of ears
{in a super cool way}
in honor of the big bun bun
chris {mike's youngest bro} is a cooker
he just returned from memphis in may int'l bbq fest
and was supporting the new fest here in ttown
pigs in flight
and then finally,
as we were leaving, this enormous tank rolled out
we had noticed in the building on the way in
and i commented on it
it might not look it in the picture
but this rig was ginormous
and sadly it was probably put to use recently
when there was a plane crash at the airport
there were two memphians killed in that crash
it was sad to hear about
i didn't know them,
but someone is missing them terribly, no doubt
keep those families in your prayers!
i am tired after this post =)
and i sat down to take a break from cleaning up the house
no rest for the weary
and waking up at 4am
does make you weary
break's over, toddler is up and hollering for me and georgie to come get him
we are glad to go!
more later....

it's bedtime

i said i would try to do better with updating

so here goes...

{plan to visit for a few minutes}
{this will probably be very boring
for anyone other than grandparents
and cousins}
{and what i refer to as my 'office'
is my dining room...
my real 'office' is down the hall
where i paint...
but it backs up to giles' room
and is not condusive to making
phone calls while he naps...
thus, the dining room 'office'}
{you're welcome for the clarification}
{thanks for stopping by}

catch up!

oh the drama!
i come here to catch up
and blogger won't let me 'caption' my pictures!
who knows if i'll get it to work
so, instead, i will caption down here...
the first picture...strictly for the grandparents
cute new pjs from target!!!
this is one of two pair
we love them and they are plenty big
so we'll easily get two seasons,
which i love!
the second picture was strictly for katy
she's my dear friend
we worked together for awhile
then we were pregnant at the same time
and now we have kiddos in the same preschool class
in that class is a sweet boy
but a violent one
he's always imitating guns sounds
and other various means of violence
but he's little
so giles will have that on him for awhile
but he packs a punch
as you can see in the picture
the shiner doesn't look too bad,
but in subsequent pictures you'll see
there was some broken skin in there too!
mommy was so sad to see this...
in the third picture {sorry it's dark, gloomy & grainy}
you are witnessing two boys
learning how something is made
this time it is carabiner
for those that don't know...
this is a carabiner
and for those that don't know,
the word "this" in the sentence
"this is a carabiner"
is a link,
therefore you click...
just a little fyi...
and in the last two pictures
you might have made a discovery
you might say to yourself
hey!, there were lots of pics taken in cheerios clothing
well, when we woke up this a.m.,
the request to remain in the shirt was made
and granted...
so the last two pictures are taken today
the first of the last two was documented solely
for the purpose of me never forgetting how CUTE
those itty bitty legs are!!!
and the last one
is just plain cute
kiddo likes his snack cup
and he likes to follow it up with a little lunch
so far he's pulled out

purple hull peas
and green beans, while stating 'i like green beans'
can't beat that!

no pictures...
quick post...
there have really been so many changes going on...
no more paci
no more bottle
every day reminders
'yes ma'am/no ma'am'
'yes sir/no sir'
and now...
progress on the potty
oh, all while fighting a fever virus
for the past 24+hrs...
topping out at 104.3
there have been tears,
on my end...for sure
i really didn't know potty training was challenging
giles is smart
i  figured it'd be
make a decision
tell him it's time to start using potty
um...not quite
several accidents -of both varieties- later
we're getting the hang of it...
today giles came in from the deck, where he was playing
to go POOP!!!
poops are a big deal around here
there have only been 3 prior to today
but seeing as how he scored 10 mini m&ms
we might be seeing more of those!
and after a day in underwear
with only one minor accident
we're making serious progress
and like i said...
this is all while enduring high fever
and feeling crummy
so, props to giles
the kid never ceases to amaze me
his new thing is responding 'sure'
for affirmative responses
 and it's v-e-r-y pronounce
i wish you could here him!
it's like he's real proud that he's giving you a positive response
so, it's a very confident 'sure!'
like, 'sure! mommy, i'll put away my shoes'
or 'giles?, will you help mommy clean up?'
'sure! i'll help you'
hi-larious, i tell you!!!
